The new Alberta Career Education Network was created to change the way young people in Alberta plan and manage their life and careers - for both their own individual needs and the benefit of the broader community they learn, live and work in.
While the primary focus of the Alberta Career Education (ACE) Network is on meeting the career education needs of children and youth in Alberta, it is the organization’s hope and vision that in time all Albertans will have the career management tools to thrive in the workplace of the future.
ACE Network’s career education and development work will help build awareness of and access to opportunities in the new Alberta economy. ACE envisions all young Albertans with the confidence, flexibility, adaptability and self-reliance to both deliver useful work to others – in the public, private and third sectors, and also to create work for themselves - as free agents or independent entrepreneurs.
To empower our youth to make informed life, learning and work decisions early on and throughout their careers, ACE will serve as a vehicle for communication, sharing of effective practices, and cooperation, coordination and collaboration amongst all those interested in the delivery of career education and development services and resources for children and youth in Alberta. ACE members and partners, and the people and communities they serve, will be the beneficiaries of this investment in ‘working together’ – increased prosperity for each young Albertan and for all Albertans.
